Berhampur: At least four fishermen sustained minor injuries while 18 others were rescued after two fishing boats capsized in Bay of Bengal near Gopalpur following a collision between the vessels on Sunday. According to reports, the two fishing boats collided due to dense fog and poor visibility.

Meanwhile, normal life in several parts of Odisha was also adversely affected due to dense fog today. Visibility dropped to less than 20 to 30 mts at some places including in the outskirts of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.

The dense fog cover created problems for the commuters particularly on the National Highways.

Met officials informed that moderate to shallow fog will prevail in isolated parts of the State for the next three to five days.

Meteorologist Sudhakar Barik informed that dense to very dense fog conditions will prevail at isolated parts of Bolangir, Kalahandi, Angul, Boudh, Kandhamal and Koraput districts tomorrow.

Earlier, the Regional Meteorological Centre had issued ‘yellow warning’ for nine districts- Khurda, Puri, Bhadrak, Nayagarh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Koraput, Sundergarh and Keonjhar.
