Puri: The 30th annual Konark Festival at the open air auditorium with the Sun Temple in its backdrop and the 8th International Sand Art Festival on the Chandrabhaga beach will begin from tomorrow.

A preparatory meeting in this regard was held in Konark under the chairmanship of Odisha Tourism Secretary Vishal K. Dev today. “Like every year, the Konark Festival and International Sand Art Festival will begin from tomorrow. Preparations for the twin annual events have already reached their final stages,” informed Odisha Tourism Director, Sachin Jadhav.

The five-day Konark Festival will feature several traditional and classical dance programmes including Odissi, Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Kuchipudi and Mohiniattam. Besides, a troupe from Indonesia will also perform Balinese Dance.

On the other hand, 16 national and six international sand artists from USA, Ireland, Denmark, Russia, Canada and South Africa will take part in the International Sand Art Festival.
