Bhubaneswar: In a major relief to vehicle owners of other State, the Odisha Transport Department has now come up with a new online tax payment gateway.

From now on, the transport or private vehicles, tractors, construction or school buses visiting Odisha can pay taxes, permit fees from the online portal, parivahan.gov.in.

The user needs to log in to the parivahan.gov.in website and pay taxes, and download receipts by selecting checkpost tax icon.

In an official notification, the State Transport Authority (STA) said that E-Checkpost portal has been implemented in the State under the 5T initiative.

The new initiative has been launched to resolve all problems in getting the permit, making tax payments and other fee through the online mode in respect of other State transport and non-transport vehicles.

Earlier, the E-checkpost portal was enabled only to provide services related to goods vehicles and contract carriage vehicles of other states.
