Tragic! Two Sisters killed in wall collapse

Rourkela: In an unfortunate incident, two minor girls were killed while another member of their family sustained injuries after the wall of their house at Malgodown slum area under Uditnagar police limits in Rourkela collapsed on them Friday night.

The victims were identified as Soumya(7) and her sister Sujata (5), daughters of one Pintu Barik here.

As per sources, the incident occurred late last night when the girls were sleeping with their parents inside their house. The wall of their house collapsed due to heavy rain over the past few days, sources added.

Getting information, police rushed to the spot, recovered the bodies and sent them for post mortem.

"It was around 3 am when their mother knocked the door of our house crying. I went and saw the girls were trapped under the wall. One of them died on the spot and another succumbed to the injuries while she was being taken to the hospital," said Biswonath, a relative of Pintu Barik.
