Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday predicted rain and thunderstorm for several parts of Odisha in the next 24 hours.

A cyclonic circulation lies over south Chhattisgarh and neighbourhood and extends up to 1.5 km above mean sea level. The wind discontinuity at 0.9 km above mean sea level from Telangana to south Odisha across south Chhattisgarh has become less marked, said IMD.

As per the IMD’s latest weather bulletin, several parts of Odisha will experience light to moderate rainfall, thunderstorm activities till March 30, 2021.

Warning:

Day 1 (valid from 1330 hrs IST of 27.03.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 28.03.2021)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak and Khordha.

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara Bhadrak, Koraput, Gajapati, Kandhamal.

Day 2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 28.03.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 29.03.2021)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower
likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak,Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Khordha, Puri and Ganjam.

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara Jagatsinghpur and Cuttack.

Day 3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 29.03.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 30.03.2021)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Bhadrak.

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak.

Day 5 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 31.03.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 01.04.2021)

Yellow Warning: Heat wave condition likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bolangir, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Angul, Boudh, Kalahandi.
