Three Killed As Speeding Truck Hits Two Motorbikes In Sambalpur

Sambalpur: Three persons were killed while one sustained critical injuries after their motorbikes, they were riding were hit by an unknown truck in Bareipali area of Sambalpur district late on Tuesday night.

The deceased persons have been identified as the residents of Hirakud area in the district. The injured has been admitted to Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) at Burla and his health condition is stated to be critical.

Police sources said, the four youths were travelling in two motorcycles when at around 1.30 am, an unidentified truck hit their two-wheelers near Bareipali.

Some locals present at the spot immediately called upon the ambulance following which they were rushed to the VIMSAR. However, three of the four youths were declared dead by the doctors, said reports.

Police have initiated an investigation to find out the truck that rammed into them late night yesterday. Police is checking the footages of the CCTV cameras installed in the petrol pump near the mishap spot, added sources.
