Tehsildar Attacked By Mining Mafia In Khordha; 1 Person Detained, 2 Tractors Seized

Khordha: The Tehsildar of Bolagarh, Dhobei Nayak on Thursday sustained multiple injuries after he was allegedly attacked by stone quarry mafia near Gopalpur in Khordha district.

Nayak was assailed along with some other staff of the Tehsil when they reached a morrum quarry at Gopalpur to conduct a raid.

A complaint in connection with the attack has been lodged with Begunia Police Station. Based on the tip off, police swung into action and detained one person from the site of quarry. Cops also seized two tractors and a JCB machine from the spot. Further investigation in connection with the incident is underway.

Notably, Tangi Tehsildar was also attacked by stone mafia during a raid in the region couple of months back.
