Paradip: A youth from Uttar Pradesh managed to sneak into the restricted Indian Coast Guard headquarters campus situated in the port town today sparking concerns over the security of the maritime surveillance unit.

According to sources, officials based at the ICG District HQ-7 spotted a youth moving inside the high security zone of the campus and detained him.

After preliminary probe, Coast Guard officials found the youth to be Mohammad Shahbaz, a resident of Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar district. The officials seized several jackets and as many as 20 pendrives from his possession.

During the questioning, the youth stated that he is a jacket seller and had entered the Coast Guard campus for selling his products. Later he was handed over to Paradip Marine police station for further investigation and necessary action.

It is to be noted that it is almost impossible for any commoner to enter the high security zone of the Coast Guard headquarters without necessary permission.
