Puri: In a move which can instil a sense of fear among people taking pictures inside the Srimandir and circulating it on social media, Puri Police has asked a youth from Burdhaman in West Bengal to appear at the concerned police station.

As per reports, the youth identified as Som Modak had recently uploaded some photos and videos of Srimandir and Gundicha Temple on his Facebook account.

As the incident sparked widespread resentment over lapses on part of security personnel to enforce the ban on entry of mobile phones & camera into Srimandir, Puri police has reportedly asked the youth to appear before the police in connection with the incident, sources said.

Puri SP Uma Shankar Das informed that the 20-year-old Som Modak has already tendered an apology over telephone. “We have identified the youth. We have asked him to appear before police in Puri,” said Das.

Meanwhile, the cops are yet to make any headway in the incident where a youth was seen talking over phone near Chahani mandap inside the temple premises. The matter is being investigated, Das added.
