Srimandir Adarsh Gurukulam For Servitors' Kids In Puri Gets Odisha Govt Nod

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Friday approved the Srimandir Adarsh Gurukulam project for setting up a model school in Puri for the children of the servitors of Sri Jagannath temple.

According to a notification issued by the State works department, the government has sanctioned Rs 25 crore for the school to be developed on 15-acre of land under Augmentation of Basic Amenities & Development of Heritage and Architecture (ABADHA) scheme. The school will come up at Matitola in the pilgrim city.

Joint Secretary of Works Department, Bimalendu Ray in a letter to managing director of O.B. & C.C. Ltd, wrote, "I am directed to inform you that Government have been pleased to accord approval for designing and construction of the project "Shree mandir Adarsh Gurukulamn at Matitota, Puri under ABADHA Scheme."

The managing director of O.B. & C.C. Ltd has been asked to take necessary follow up action in consultation with Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) for timely completion of the project.

According to sources, the proposed model school in the pilgrim city will impart Vedic education along with the general courses to the kids of the servitors free of cost.
