Bhubaneswar: With the onset of winter, minimum temperature continued to plummet in Odisha as 11 places in the State recorded temperature below 15 degree Celsius for the second consecutive day on Sunday.

The minimum temperature fell below 10 degree Celsius to 9.6 degree Celsius in Sonepur, making it coldest town in the State, informed the Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar.

Phulbani and Daringbadi in Kandhamal district registered minimum temperatures of 10.5 degree Celsius and 10.5 degree Celsius respectively. Angul registered 11.0 degree, Koraput 11.6 degree, Bhawanipatna 12.2 degree, Jharsuguda 13.0 degree, Kendujhar 13.8 degree, Baripada 14.2 degree, Bolangir 14.6 degree and Sambalpur 14.7 degree.

The minimum temperature in Bhubaneswar  and Cuttack was 18.0 degree Celsius and 16.8 degree Celsius respectively in the last 24 hours.

As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), as many as five places in Odisha reported minimum temperature below 15 degree Celsius.
