Bhubaneswar: The last solar eclipse of 2019 will occur on Thursday (December 26) and already there is a buzz about the celestial event particularly among stargazers and astrologers.
The last solar eclipse assumes significance as it will form a “ring of fire” in the sky, a phenomenon only observed in areas which witness full eclipse. The solar eclipse will be seen from most parts of Asia including South India and some parts in North and West Australia and North and East Africa.
The celestial marvel would be visible in Kurukshetra (Haryana), after a gap of 10 years. It will be perceptible in Tamil Nadu. The eclipse will also be visible from several parts of Kalpetta (Wayanad), Kasargod, Kannur, Thalaserry in Kerala and Mangaluru in Karnataka.
According to experts, the eclipse will start at 8:20:08 AM Indian Standard Time on Thursday, December 26. The solar eclipse will reach the maximum eclipse position at 11:29:10 AM IST.

Special rituals will be held at Puri Srimandir and no regular rituals will be affected due to the solar eclipse. After ceremonial bathing of the deities, ‘Khai Kora’ bhoga and later ‘Pahili Bhoga’ will be offered which will be subsequently followed by other rituals.
Odisha government on Tuesday ordered for closure of all schools, colleges and government offices on December 26 in view of the solar eclipse.
Meanwhile, special arrangements have also been made at Pathani Samanta Planetarium so that people can watch the celestial event without any problems. However, experts advised people not to look at the sun or sky with naked eyes as it can have an adverse impact.
According to astrologers, the solar eclipse will have different impact on people as per their zodiac signs. Many usually believe that any celestial event including solar or lunar eclipse affects people's natal chart due to the planetary positions on the day of the eclipse. As per experts, the solar eclipse will bring good luck for Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius, Libra, Cancer, Virgo while it will have some mixed and negative impact on people with Aries, Taurus, Capricorn, Sagittarius and Gemini zodiac signs.
