Bhubaneswar: Shalini Sheetal of Mother's Public School in Unit 1 of Bhubaneswar has topped the class-XII Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examination in Odisha.

Sheetal, who is a Science student, secured 98.2 % marks in the exam, the results of which were declared today.

Expressing happiness over her success, Sheetal, thanked her teachers saying, "I have secured 98.2 per cent marks in the Science steam and I am grateful to all my teachers as they took all pain in the last two years to prepare us well for the examination."

Speaking about her future studies, the Odisha topper said, "I am interested in Computer Science and so, I want to pursue my studies in Engineering."

According to reports, the school has achieved 100% success in all the streams while 159 students have scored above 90% in the examination.

T. Sai Savyasachi scored 95.4 % marks to top in the Commerce stream in the school while Amrita Aditi is the school topper in the Humanities stream with 96.4% marks.

The CBSE class 12 results were declared today and the overall success rate was 83.4%. Hansika Shukla from Meerut Road, Ghaziabad and Karishma Arora from Muzafarnagar, Uttar Pradesh topped the CBSE Class 12 exams scoring 499 marks each. Trivandrum ( 98.2%), Chennai (92.93%) and Delhi (91.87%) were the regions with the highest success rate.
