Bhubaneswar: After days of speculation, senior journalist Satya Prakash Nayak today joined Congress at a special function in the party’s state headquarters.

Satya Prakash along with his supporters took out a motorcycle rally from Ram Mandir square to the Congress Bhawan where he was given a cordial welcome by OPCC chief Niranjan Patnaik and other members of the party.

Earlier last week, he had met the party’s Odisha-incharge Jitendra Singh where he discussed his political plans.

Speaking during the event, Satya Prakash said that he chosen to join Congress since his ideology matched with that of the party’s.

“The Congress party perfectly suits me since I will not have to compromise with my principles,” Satya Prakash said.

Whe asked if he looks forward to contest the elections, he said, "If the leadership feels that I can better serve the party by contesting the polls, I shall certainly do that.”

Satya Prakash will head the media communications of the party, informed sources. .
