Balasore: The Vigilance officials today conducted raids at four locations including residence of Ramchandra Upadhyay, a block grant college lecturer of Talanagar College in Soro area of Balasore district on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Acting on a tip off, a team of anti-graft officials of Balasore division raided Ramachandra's residence at Asimila village in Bahanaga block, his in-laws house and two other buildings belonging to his relatives near Talanagar chhak.

Sources said that vigilance sleuths have unearthed cash of Rs 3 lakh, gold ornaments and other valuables from his residence.

The exact amount of disproportionate assets recovered during the searches will be known only after the raids are over, added sources.
