Cuttack: The Odisha Government submitted its reply in connection with a petition seeking waiver of fees in private schools in the state, in view of the Covid-19 pandemic situation, in the Orissa High Court on Tuesday.

Following its submission on Tuesday, the government has now left it for the court to deliberate on the matter and take a final call. The next hearing on the matter has been scheduled for November 23.

Earlier, the High Court had sought clarification from the Odisha government over the school fee waiver issue.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Odisha Abibhabak Mahasangha and other individuals had moved the Orissa High Court seeking an exemption of tuition fee by private schools as the state government had declared COVID-19 pandemic as a ‘disaster.’
