Mayurbhanj: In a good Samaritan act, a train driver rescued and admitted a man to hospital after he came in front of a train today.

As per reports, one Chittaranjan Hati accidentally came in front of the Baripada and Balasore DEMU early this morning and lost both his legs. The alert driver immediately halted the train and rushed the critically injured Hati to Baripada hospital for treatment.

Displaying presence of mind, not only did he admit the injured to a hospital but also safely handed over one of the  severed legs to the hospital authorities. However, Hati's condition is stated to be critical.

"The patient has lost both his legs and his condition is critical. Four litres of blood transfusion have been done so far," said Casualty Medical Officer, Dr. Bijaya Narayan Rout.
