Bhubaneswar: Right to Information (RTI) activist, Pradeep Pradhan on Wednesday brought out a string of land scam allegations, holding the ruling-BJD's government in State responsible for those.

He alleged that the State government has suppressed information about the land scams to the tune of around Rs 20,000 crore in the State.

"There are five land scams of which the first one involves the BDA and the CDA housing boards in the Twin city. The second land scam has been committed by the founder of KIIT and KIMS, Achyuta Samanta in a planned way. The third land scam involves Naveen Niwas. The fourth one is a loot of Rs 15,000 crore in Jajpur, referred to as Dankari mining scam," alleged Pradhan.

Though the accused involved in the Khangapatna land scam had been arrested, no action was taken against the political leaders who had purchased the scammed lands.

Similarly, he alleged, there were losses to the tune of Rs 1500 crore to the government exchequer in the Dankari mining scam and the BJD block chairman of the region is involved in the corruption.

He further alleged that even though the Comptroller and Auditor General had revealed land fraud of 81 acres committed by the KIIT authorities in Bhubaneswar of which the founder of KIIT has encroached 30 acres and high rises have been built on another 11 acres of land, no one has raised any voice against the scam.

Moreover, Pradhan alleged that 500 decimal area has been encroached by the Naveen Niwas of which 400 decimal land belongs to Lord Lingaraj.
