Rairangpur/Bolangir: At a time when polls are a few days away, the police and poll officials continue to seize large amounts of unaccounted cash from vehicles from different places of the State.

During a search near Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district today, police recovered more than Rs 34 lakh from a car. Similarly, the cops seized Rs 8 lakh from a vehicle near Barthala Chhak in Bolangir district and detained a person for questioning.

In another incident, one person was detained by police after Rs 3 lakh was seized from his car near Haradakhol on Bolangir-Sonepur road. The concerned person failed to give satisfactory explanation about the source of the cash.

In Jharsuguda district, around Rs 6 lakh were seized from two vehicles in Badamal. On the other hand, Rs 1.35 lakh were seized from the vehicle of Congress leader Jadumani Barik in Champua of Keonjhar district.

A total of Rs 6.70 lakh were seized from a vehicle during search by poll flying squad near Koida Chhak in Sundergarh as well.
