Rs 2.5 lakh fake notes seized in Gajapati; 2 detained

Paralakhemundi: Police today detained two persons from Sridharanagar in Parlakhemundi of Gajapati district in connection with printing of fake currency notes.

As per reports, currency notes with face value of Rs 2.5 lakh and in denominations of Rs.500 have been seized. Moreover, chemicals, paper and other articles used for fake note printing have also been seized by the police.

After receiving a tipoff, the police raided a house and found the notes and the printing set up. Following the raid, two persons suspected to be involved in printing of fake notes have been detained by the police.

Police have initiated a probe to unearth more details.
