Rourkela: Miscreants Thrash Three Including Woman, Set Car On Fire

Rourkela: Unidentified miscreants allegedly set an SUV on fire at Heked Road under Tangarpali police limits after thrashing three occupants of the vehicle in the early hours today.

According to an eyewitness, three persons including a woman were travelling in the four-wheeler when a group of 10 to 12 bike-borne youths intercepted the car at Heked Road, brutally thrashed the trio and set the car on fire.

It is alleged that some objectionable items were being transported in the car that triggered tension.

Though fire fighters rushed to the spot and doused the flames, the SUV was completely burnt in the fire.

Meanwhile, police have reached the spot and began an inquiry. The incident occurred in the early morning when there was no patrolling in the area, a police official said.
