Bhubaneswar: Rourkela boy Samarth Agarwal topped IIT-Kharagpur zone by securing All India Rank 25 in the JEE (Advanced) entrance test the results of which were declared on Monday.

With his AIR 25, Agarwal, who also becomes the topper from Odisha, aims to develop into an entrepreneur.

"I had done well in the JEE Advanced examination. But I did not expect a rank as high as AIR 25. I will take admission in computer science and engineering possibly from IIT Bombay. My aim is to excel in academics and become an entrepreneur. I feel IIT will be perfect platform for me,” the Times of India quoted Agarwal as saying.

Rounak Dalmia and his brother Manthan Dalmia from Kantabanjhi area of Bolangir district of the State also signed bright in the national-level entrance test.

While Rounak secured fourth rank in IIT Kharagpur zone by securing All India Rank 52 in the test, his brother Manthan bagged All India Rank 100.

Expressing joy over his success Rounak said, “My two-and-half-year of hardship yielded results. I used to study for 10-12 hours a day to secure good ranks in the national-level entrance test.”

Dedicating his success to his family members Rounak said, “I got constant support from my parents during pandemic. I utilised the lockdown in a productive way.”

Rounak aims to become a scientist, while Manthan is aspiring to peruse computer science.

As many as 3000 candidates from Odisha had appeared in the national-level entrance test held at 17 centres in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Berhampur, Rourkela and Sambalpur on September 27.
