Bhubaneswar: The members of the Odisha Rajaswa Amala Sangha (ORAS), who had been protesting since last 23 days over their 4-point charter of demands, withdrew the dharna on Wednesday after getting written assurance from the chief secretary.

The clerical staff of the revenue department will now be showed up at work from Friday, said sources.

General Secretary of ORAS, Naresh Mohapatra, said, “We unanimously took the decision to withdrew the strike after getting assurance from the administration. We will be back on work from Friday."

More than 18,000 employees, working at District Collectors and Tehsildars offices across the State, were also on protest last year over their 4-point charter of demands. Revenue Minister Maheswar Mohanty had then termed the demands of the association 'legitimate'.
