Bhubaneswar: The rising Covid-19 graph has led to concern among students and their parents ahead of the crucial Class 10 matriculation and Plus II examinations in Odisha.

Putting the speculation of any rescheduling of the upcoming crucial examinations in the State to rest, Odisha School and Mass Education Minister Samir Rajan Dash on Friday said “The upcoming matriculation and Plus II examinations will not be rescheduled.”

The Minister further clarified there is no confusion over holding both the matriculation and Plus II examinations in the State. “ The examinations will be held as per the previously announced dates.”

Dash informed that the number of examination centres will be increased across the State for the conduct of the examinations.

“We have increased the number of centres and all Covid-19 protocols will be strictly followed. Already elaborate arrangements in this regard are being made across the State,” Dash added.

To a media query on the conduct of examinations for Class IX, the minister said that at present the classes for Class IX students have been suspended and no decision has been taken on the conduct of examination as yet.
