Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the Republic Day celebrations, the Commissionerate Police on Monday issued an advisory for public.
The Mahatma Gandhi Marg, where the State-level parade will be held on January 26 (tomorrow), will remain out of bounds for public. The movement of vehicles and pedestrians will be completely restricted from 6:30 am to 9 am, tweeted Commissionerate Police.
This year’s Republic Day Ceremony on Mahatma Gandhi Marg is not open to public because of Covid 19 restrictions. No vehicle/pedestrian will be allowed to enter Mahatma Gandhi Marg from 6:30 AM to 9 AM, unless authorised.

Police Commissioner, Sudhanshu Sarangi said that State Level Republic Day Parade 2021 will be commanded by 25-year-old Assistant Superintendent of Police S. Susree (2018 batch IPS).
On January 14, Odisha government had released guidelines for the upcoming Republic Day celebrations in view of the COVID-19 pandemic situation.
In a letter to the district Collectors and SPs, the State Home Department had categorically instructed that no students, NCC cadets or the general public will be allowed to take part in the Republic Day celebrations this year.
