Bhubaneswar: There is an increased likelihood that schools in Odisha might reopen after Durga Puja holidays.

The Odisha government on Thursday issued directive for taking up cleaning activities of the school campus and other school infrastructure which have been lying idle for the last six months across the State.

As per official sources, the State government has prepared an action plan for intensive and focused COVID-19 campaign which is likely to be rolled out soon. As per the government directive, for the successful implementation of the campaign, participation of teachers is absolutely required so that IEC materials approved by the government can reach the students, parents and community.

At present all the teaching activities in Odisha are being taken up online due to COVID-19 restrictions. The district education officers (DEOs) have also been directed to ensure the availability of teachers at their respective headquarters for maintaining of pre-COVID status.
