Puri Srimandir's 14 hand-length ‘Patitapabana Bana’ which is mounted atop the Nilachakra was replaced with a shorter flag on May 1 ahead of cyclone Fani's landfall. The flag was replaced as a precaution to prevent damages.
"Since the regular flag was replaced to prevent damages, Shree Jagannath Temple looked very odd. Large number of devotees witnessed the restoration of the regular-sized flag today and were very happy," said a servitor.
