Cuttack: Authorities of Ravenshaw University suspended a student today for allegedly attacking fellow students and indulging in hooliganism inside campus.

The varsity took action against the BBA final year student after a probe, said an official of the university.

The student has been suspended for four semesters. Besides, restrictions have been put on his entry into campus and hostel.

Informing about the decision, Ravenshaw University registrar Maheswar Agasti said, "The varsity authorities have suspended the student for four semesters. During the suspension period, he won't be allowed to either visit the campus or hostel. The period of suspension will extend till June 2020 and the student will not be allowed to appear any examination till that date."

As per sources, the BBA final year student had allegedly attacked some students in Lalitgiri hostel of the university on May 17. An inquiry conducted by the varsity later established his involvement in the incident.
