Puri: Expecting heavy turnout of devotees during the annual Rath Yatra festival, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) has now decided to intensify patrolling in and around Puri Railway Station.

A special training programme was also organised to impart soft skills to security personnel so that they behave and deal with the passengers with utmost care and politeness, informed RPF officer-in-charge, AK Singh during a presser on Sunday.

"We have come up with special measures to deal with the rush besides other security arrangements. No person will be allowed to work at the railway station without proper police verification. If any person or passenger gets victimized or has any complaints, they can approach and register their complaints at the help desk. The victims also can dial the toll-free number '182' to lodge their complaint," said Singh.

Furthermore, Under Vehicle Surveillance System (UVSS) system will be introduced soon. The advanced system will come in handy to scan the interiors of vehicles including four-wheelers and three-wheelers, added Singh.
