Rat found in 'Mahaprasad' at Jagannath Temple

Puri: In an incident that has raised serious concerns among devotees, a dead rat was found in the ‘Mahaprasad’ served at the Shri Jagannath temple here yesterday.

According to sources, the incident took place on Monday night when some devotees were consuming the prasad at the Nirmalyakhala of the temple.

Devotees expressed their displeasure over the issue.

Meanwhile, officials Shri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) said an investigation into the matter will be conducted.

Mahaprasad is offered to devotees at Nirmalyakhala of the temple on every Sankranti.
