Bhubaneswar: Authorities of the Accountant General (AG) have asked Ranji player Biplab Samantray to furnish his educational certificates in original within one month.

The move came after a Right to Information (RTI) query revealed that Samantray has allegedly produced fake certificates to get a job at the AG office in Bhubaneswar.

Meanwhile, the cricketer refuted the charges and said he has not submitted any forged documents and the truth will come out soon.

“I cannot comment on the issue at this stage. But it is true that a notice has been issued seeking clarification on my certificates. I am a victim of the legal dispute between a university and the UGC. I will definitely produce the genuine documents,” Samantray stated.

Samantray had graduated from EIILM University in Sikkim in 2011. “Earlier, in 2013, when I got the job, my certificates were verified,” he informed.
