Bhubaneswar: Devotees in huge numbers thronged various temples of Lord Ram across the State to offer prayers on the occasion of Ram Navami on Saturday. The temples across the state are teeming with devotees since the early hours of today.

Special programmes including musical recitals of Ramcharitmanas and Ram Katha Amrit have been organised at Ram Mandir and other temples in Bhubaneswar today to mark the birth anniversary of Lord Ram.

Similarly, host of programmes has been lined up by different organisations and temples in Bhadrak, where the Ram Navami rituals are being performed since the past 6 days. Elaborate security arrangements have been made by the administration and police as over 60 processions are expected to be taken out in Bhadrak town today.

The Ram temples at Palamandap, Chandini Chowk, Chahata Ghat and Khannagar Panchamukhi Hanuman temple in Cuttack also saw huge footfall of devotees.

In Puri, secret rituals were conducted at Srimandir on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami.
Processions were also taken out by devotees in Rourkela, Kendrapara, Balasore and other places of the State too.

Ram Navami festival also marks the end of the nine days of the Navaratri festival, during which many devotees observe fast in reverence of goddess Durga.
