Bhubaneswar: Several parts of Odisha will experience light to moderate rainfall and thunderstorm activity in the coming days, predicted India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday.

Though dry weather will mostly prevail across Odisha till February 15, several districts including Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Nuapada, Sundergarh, Sambalpur, Angul, Deogarh and Keonjhar are likely to experience light to moderate rain or thundershower between February 16 and 17.

Thunderstorm activities might continue for the subsequent two days, said IMD in its weather bulletin issued today.

Meanwhile, there has been considerable improvement in the cold wave conditions in several parts of the State in the past 48 hours.

“The minimum temperature (Night temperature) is likely to rise by 2-3 degree Celsius at many places over the districts of Odisha during next 2-3 days and no large change thereafter,” IMD’s release said.

Here’s weather outlook for this week:

Day 1 (valid from 1330 hrs IST of 12.02.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 13.02.2021):

Shallow to moderate fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Khordha, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal and Sonepur.

Day 2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 13.02.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 14.02.2021):

Shallow to moderate fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Koraput, Malkangiri and Nabarangpur.
