Bhubaneswar: The Ministry of Railways has reportedly decided to run special trains from and through East Coast Railway jurisdiction during this winter season. Experiencing the train traffic movements and rush in regular trains in peak time and also keeping in view popular demands from passengers, the Ministry has taken the decision.

The decision has been taken after reviewing the long waiting list in regular trains. Now, special trains are becoming very popular amongst the passengers who are planning their holiday journey at the last moment as they are easily getting confirm berths in these special trains.

East Coast Railway is providing Special Trains services towards different destinations of the country to make the journey of passengers’ hassle free, read an official release.

Here’s List of The Winter Special Trains

Special Trains towards Howrah:

Puri-Santragachhi Special (08403) - It will leave Puri at 2125 hrs on every Friday between 3rd January and 27th March. In the return direction, Santragachhi-Puri (08404) Special will leave Santragachhi at 1910 hrs on every Saturday between 4th January and 28th March 2020.

Puri-Shalimar/Santragachhi Special (08037) - Shalimar-Puri Special will leave Shalimar at 2355 hrs on every Friday between 3rd January and 17th January. In the return direction, (08038) Puri-Shalimar Special will leave Puri at 2355 hrs on every Saturday between 4th January and 18th January 2020.

Puri-Kolkata Special (03101) Kolkata-Puri Special will leave Kolkata at 2350 hrs on every Saturday between 4th January and 25th January 2020 and. In the return direction, (03102) Puri-Kolkata Special will leave Puri at 1400 hrs on every Sunday between 5th January and 26th January 2020.

Special Trains Towards Bangalore:

Sambalpur-Banaswadi (Bangalore) Special (08301): Sambalpur-Banaswadi Special will leave Sambalpur at 0935 hrs on every Wednesday between 1st January and 25th March 2020. In the return direction, (08302) Banaswadi-Sambalpur Special will leave Banaswadi at 2330 hrs on every Thursday between 2nd January and 26th March 2020.

Hatia-Bangalore Cant Special via Titilagarh & Rayagada (80635) Hatia-Bangalore Cant Special will leave Hatia at 2300 hrs on every Friday between 3rd January and 28th February 2020. In the return direction, (80636) Bangalore Cant-Hatia Special will leave Bangalore Cant at 2200 hrs on every Sunday between 5th January and 1st February 2020.

Special Trains Towards Secundrabad:

Kacheguda (Secunderabad)-Tata Special via Brahmapur & Kendujhargarh (07438) Kacheguda-Tata Special will leave Kacheguda at 1300 hrs on every 6th January and every Monday between 6th January and 30th March 2020. In the return direction, (07437) Tata-Kacheguda Special will leave Tata at 2250 hrs on every Tuesday between 7th January and 31st March 2020.

Bhubaneswar-Secunderabad Special (08407) Bhubaneswar-Secunderabad Special will leave Bhubaneswar at 1320 hrs on every Thursday between 2nd January and 26th March 2020. In the return direction, (08408) Secunderabad-Bhubaneswar Special will leave Secunderabad at 2130 hrs on every Friday between 3rd January and 27th March 2020.

Srikakulam-Kacheguda (Secunderabad) Special (07148) Kacheguda-Srikakulam Special will leave Kacheguda at 1845 hrs on every Sunday between 5th January and 23rd February 2020. In the return direction, (07147) Srikakulam Road-Kacheguda Special will leave Srikakulam Road at 1715 hrs on every Monday between 6th January and 24th February 2020.

Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad Special (08501) Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad Special will leave Visakhapatnam at 2300 hrs on every Thursday between 7th January and 31st March 2020. In the return direction, (08502) Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam Special will leave Secunderabad at 1630  hrs on every Wednesday between 8th January and 1st April 2020.

Special Trains Towards Tirupati:

Visakhapatnam-Tirupati Special (08573) Visakhapatnam-Tirupati Special will leave Visakhapatnam at 2255 hrs on every Monday between 6th January and 30th March 2020. In the return direction, (08574) Tirupati-Visakhapatnam Special will leave Tirupati at 1530 hrs on every Tuesday between 7th January and 31st March 2020.

Kacheguda-Srikakulam-Tirupati Special (07016) Kacheguda-Srikakulam Special will leave Kacheguda at 1845 hrs on every Tuesday between 7th January and 25th February 2020. In the return direction, (07479) Srikakulam Road-Tirupati Special will leave Srikakulam Rod at 1630 hrs on every Wednesday between 8th January and 26th February 2020.

Special Trains Towards Chennai:

Santragachhi-Chennai Special (82841) Santragachhi-Chennai Special will leave Santragachhi at 1240 hrs on every Friday between 3rd January and 27th March 2020. In the return direction, (82842) Chennai-Santragachhi Special will leave Chennai at 1820 hrs on every Saturday between 4th January and 28th March 2020.

Chennai-Santragachhi Special (06058) will leave Chennai at 1515 hrs on every Wednesday between 1st January and 26th February 2020. In the return direction, (06057) Santragachhi-Chennai Special will leave Santragachhi at 2350 hrs on every Thursday between 2nd January and 27th February 2020.

Santragachhi-Puducherry Special(06010) Puducherry-Santragachhi Special will leave Puducherry at 1845 hrs on every Saturday between 4th January and 29th February 2020. In the return direction, (06009) Santragachhi-Puducherry Special will leave Santragachhi at 1410 hrs on every Monday between 6th January and 2nd March 2020.

Santragachhi-Coimbatore Special (80823) Santragachhi-Coimbatore Special will leave Santragachhi at 2150 hrs on every Wednesday between 1st January and 26th February 2020. In the return direction, (80824) Coimbatore-Santragachhi Special will leave Coimbatore at 2145 hrs on every Friday between 3rd January and 28th February 2020.

Special Train Between Visakhapatnam and Araku:

Visakhapatnam-Araku Special (08517) will leave Visakhapatnam at 0810 hrs on nominated days between 1st and 26th January 2020. In the return direction, this train will leave Araku at 1430 hrs.

How to Book the Special Trains:

If, passengers are getting wait list status in regular trains during this season, they may book Train tickets in Special trains running from and through East Coast Railway jurisdiction. The Special Train Number starts with ‘0’ (zero) or with ‘8’ and passengers can easily find it from National Train Enquiry System (NTES) for online Ticket or may ask at the PRS inquiry counter for counter tickets, the release added.

Besides, passengers can book their tickets online by visiting IRCTC website or book ticket through Mobile App or may from PRS Counters.
