Bhubaneswar: All India Congress Committee President Rahul Gandhi today announced a new team for the party’s Odisha unit. The new Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) comprises of 14 vice-presidents, 24 general secretaries and 99 secretaries among others.

While 14 party leaders including Ananta Sethi and Ganeswar Behera have been made vice presidents, Kishor Chandra Patel has been appointed Treasurer.

As many as 24 members have been appointed as general secretaries of the OPCC. Senior leader Hemananda Biswal will head the 7-member Disciplinary Action Committee as its chairperson.

Similarly, senior journalist Satya Prakash Nayak who recently joined the party has been made the chairperson of party’s Media and Communication department.

Odisha PCC chief Niranjan Patnaik and leader of Oppostion Narasingha Mishra along with 25 other leaders of the party have been included in the Executive Committee of OPCC.

Former OPCC chief Prasad Harichandan, Bhakta Charan Das, Ranjib Biswal, Shyam Sundar Hansdah, KP Singhdeo, all elected MLAs, and heads of frontal organizations like Mahila Congress, Seva Dal, Youth Congress, NSUI, INTUC have been made special invitees of OPCC.

The central leadership of the party has also effected changes in the district level by appointing six new members as working presidents of District Congress Committees.

Futhermore, Bhakta Charan Das has been made chairman of Odisha Pradesh Campaign Committee while Ranjib Biswal has been appointed its Convenor, a detailed list issued by AICC revealed.

The Core Committee of the party is composed of 42 members including former OPCC chief Jaydev Jena, Chiranjeev Biswal, Naba Das.

OPCC chief Niranjan Patnaik and senior leader Narasingha Mishra along with 19 others have been appointed members of the Election Committee of Odisha Congress.
