Puri: Amid state-wide hue and cry over the gang rape of a minor girl in Puri, a woman claiming to be the second wife of the prime accused and former constable Jitendra Kumar Sethi, Thursday revealed some startling facts of crime against his name. She accused the latter of running illegal flesh trade in connivance with his first wife.

Speaking to OTV on the gang rape case, the woman said “Jitendra is a habitual offender and used to run sex racket in his government quarters. He has committed such crimes many times in the past. Even I was a victim, so after coming to know about his arrest, me and my entire family is very happy. The culprit should be hanged till death.”

The woman further alleged that Jitendra’s first wife who also happens to be a cop used to help him in the flesh trade to earn money. “I urge the DIG of police to dismiss his first wife from service and put her behind the bars,” she said.

A few days ago, Jitendra, a former police constable who was dismissed from service in February after multiple charges of misconduct, allegedly offered lift to a minor girl from Nimapara area in a car. Later, he along with three other persons took the girl to his government quarters near Jhadeswari Club where she was allegedly gang raped.

After the matter came to the fore, police swung into action and arrested Jitendra and his aide Rajesh Sethi while two others were taken into custody for interrogation.

A case under Sections 363, 376 (DA) & 394 IPC sections and Sec 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, (POCSO) has been registered against the accused.
