Puri: Police on Friday arrested another accused in connection with the gang rape of a minor girl in Puri which sparked state-wide hue and cry.

Rama Chandra Pradhan, a resident of Aliaputu village in Brahmagiri area is the third person to be arrested in the case. Earlier the prime accused Jitendra Sethi and Rajesh Sethi were arrested in connection with the incident.

On Thursday, a woman claiming to be the second wife of Jitendra, accused the latter of running illegal flesh trade in connivance with his first wife.

Jitendra, a former police constable who was dismissed from service in February after multiple charges of misconduct, had allegedly offered lift to a minor girl from Nimapara area in a car on December 3. Later, he along with three other persons took the girl to his government quarters near Jhadeswari Club where she was allegedly gang raped.
