Puri: The Puri district administration today initiated the process for the demolition of urban primary health centre at Dolabedi Kona here as part of the ongoing eviction drive within 75-metre radius of Srimandir for the heritage corridor project of Odisha government.

As per reports, furniture, medical equipment and other materials of the health centre are being shifted temporarily to another building near Damodar Road at Baliapanda of the pilgrim town.

“As the primary health centre falls within 75-metre radius of Jagannath Temple, it is being demolished and the health centre has been temporarily shifted to Baliapanda. The facilities that were available here will be provided to people there too,” informed Puri Sub-Collector, Bhabataran Sahoo who was present at the spot during the eviction process.

Sources said the district administration is also planning to raze Sana Chhata mutt in Puri town soon.

Earlier on Monday, Punjabi Mutt situated on the southern side of Srimandir was sealed by the Puri district administration following allegations of narcotics trade in the premises. The mutt was sealed by police in presence of a magistrate. The Mutt inmates however have refuted allegations of narcotics trade.
