Bhubaneswar: As many as 2,273 numbers of applications of stalled promotions of government employees will be taken up for hearing in the first round of Promotion Adalats scheduled to be held on January 28, 29 and 31, principal secretary of General Administration department Sanjeev Chopra informed on Sunday.

As per sources, around 8909 applications were received online by the GA & PG department by 23.01.2020 out of which 2,273 number of applications were finalized for consideration. To facilitate the shortlisted candidates, the GA & PG department has uploaded the list of all 2273 applications on its official website.

Department secretary Sanjeev Chopra informed that e-mail acknowledgments with mention of place of hearing and date have been sent to the selected applicants to appear in the Promotion Adalats.

Candidates have been advised to bring along a copy of the acknowledgment mail sent to them by the government as only those who have been shortlisted will be allowed inside the venue of the courts. It has been made clear that no lawyers or representatives can appear for the candidates during the hearing.

The second round of Promotion Adalats will be held on February 27, 28 and 29 to review the cases of aggrieved employees who were due and eligible for a promotion by 31st December 2019 but have not received acknowledgment from the GA & PG department so far.
