Sambalpur: After 52 domestic LPG cylinders were seized by the Supplies Department during a raid at a private college in Sambalpur district, a case has been registered against the college administration and an investigation has been launched into probable black marketing.

After 50 cylinders were seized from the college, raids were conducted at a godown of a private company in Rengali area of the district as the cylinders were issued in the aforesaid company's name. Sources said raids were conducted at another godown as well.

A 3-member team of the Supplies Department had conducted the raid at the private college where the cylinders were found inside the kitchen.

After the incident, District Civil Supplies Officer, Ranjan Seth said that legal action will be taken against all those who are involved in the case.

"We have submitted a report to the district collector. After a detailed inquiry, we will submit another report," said Seth.

No comments could be obtained from the college authorities regarding the incident.
