Cuttack: A high level probe has now been initiated into alleged irregularities and corruption in Ravenshaw University in Cuttack.

P.K. Das, additional secretary of the Higher Education Department today visited the premier educational institute in Cuttack as part of an inquiry which includes a detailed investigation into alleged irregularities in recruitment.

Besides, a detailed probe will also be conducted based on audit reports, modes of promotions, recruitment of guest faculties and other financial irregularities, informed Das.

Not only Ravenshaw, Berhampur University had also come under the government scanner over alleged irregularities.

Following chancellor's order, inquiries have been ordered into irregularities in both the universities. Reports have also been sought within 60 days, informed sources.

Earlier, some students of Berhampur University had brought allegations of irregularities in appointment of staff and lecturers, evaluation of answer sheets, university finances and infrastructure development.
