Prisoner dies while undergoing treatment at Capital hospital

Bhubaneswar: A prisoner serving a sentence at Nimapara sub-jail in Puri district died while undergoing treatment at Capital hospital in Bhubaneswar. The deceased has been identified as Munabar Biswal.

According to reports, Biswal had complained of acute pain in his abdomen last night and was immediately shifted to Nimapara primary health centre (PHC) by the jail authorities.

Later, Biswal was shifted to Capital Hospital after his condition deteriorated.

Though it is still unclear about the exact cause behind his death, the family members are demanding a detailed investigation into the incident.

Sources said Biswal was arrested on charges of killing his mother. Moreover, he had already served two and a half years in Nimapara sub-jail.
