Deogarh: In a bizarre incident, students of Deogarh College appearing for plus-II examination today refused to take the exam in the designated classroom due to CCTV surveillance and demanded that they should be given scope for malpractice.

As per reports, the science stream students who were appearing the examination demanded that the college authorities should allow them to cheat. When invigilators present in the exam hall refused to oblige, 68 students including 24 girl students marched out of the exam hall with question papers and answer sheets and took the exam on the corridor away from CCTV surveillance.

After being informed by the college authorities, the Deogarh Collector, Sudhansu Mohan Samal and SP Rahul Jain reached the spot and seized the question papers and answer sheets of the concerned students.

A meeting of the faculty members was held under the chairmanship of the Principal Santoshini Satpathy and a decision has been taken to conduct all the exams under CCTV surveillance.

“When the invigilator did not allow the students to cheat, they moved to the corridor with question papers and answer sheets. On being informed, the Collector and the SP reached the spot and seized the question papers and answer sheets. They also noted down the names of the students and their roll numbers and have assured strict action,” Satpathy said.
