Khurda: With an aim to promote Jagannath Sanskruti (culture), Prathana channel, the only devotional channel in Odisha, has launched ‘Chala Khetra Jiba’ padayatra from Khurda today.

As a part of the campaign, a chariot carrying a statue of Lord Jagannath began its journey from Chausathi Jogini Temple near Balianta in Khurda amid chants of Hari Bol and Jai Jagannath by euphoric devotees. The chariot will visit Praraharajpur, Teisipur and Birapurusottampur after reaching Dasia Bauri Math tomorrow.

On February 14 the chariot will reach Puri through Sakhi Gopal and on February 15 it will begin its journey to Singha Dwar from Gundicha temple by visiting various Mutts and Temples along the way.

“Lord Jagannath is the God of truth, justice and love. In today’s world love is missing among people. It’s an effort to bind people with togetherness and love,” said Jagannath Culture researcher, Rajat Kar.

“I am feeling blessed to be a part of this Padayatra” said singer Santilata Barik.

“With this initiative people will be spiritually attached with Lord Jaganntah” said singer Manmath Mishra.

“Every evening there will be a devotional song programme. Our effort is to create spiritualism and peace among the mass,” said Creative Head of OTV Network, Ranjan Sathpathy.

“Jagannath Bhajans will be organised all along the way during our journey. The locals will join us in this initiative. In Puri, there will be a mega programme," said Chala Khetra Jiba campaign head, Shyama Prasad Mishra.
