Bolangir: Irregularities in implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) were reported in Deogaon block of Bolangir district. Some villagers have received money in their bank accounts under the scheme without cultivating chickpea while others allegedly have got less as compared to the sanctioned amount.

As per government documents, Krushna Pradhan, a resident of Ghatuladunguri, has received Rs 10,000 in first installment and Rs 9,600 in second installment. Conspicuously Pradhan received the money despite the fact that he has neither any farmland nor he has cultivated chickpea. Similarly, Krushna's wife Padmini Pradhan has got Rs 12,000 in first phase and Rs 4,800 in second phase.

On the other hand, actual beneficiaries have received less money as compared to the money granted by the government. One Saraswati Dharua, a farmer has received Rs 1,500 whereas in the documents, it was mentioned she is eligible to get Rs 24,000. Another farmer Durga Merli has got Rs 4,000 though the documents showed she is eligible to get Rs 14,400.

"The government is providing enough money under the scheme, but farmers are not getting the actual amount. Where the money had gone?" asked Gopal Merli, another aggrieved farmer.

When Deogaon block official Ashok Padhi and Watershed Project Director were contacted for comments, they refused to say anything.

Meanwhile, Bolangir Collector Arindam Dakua said action will be taken against those who found guilty. "I have directed probe into the alleged irregularities. After getting a report only further action will be taken," he added.
