Sambalpur: Despite being born and brought up in a poor family in Balasingha village under maoist-affected Naktideul block of Sambalpur, Seshadev Kishan has crossed all hurdles to land a job as Research Associate at Gottingen University of Germany after completing his chemical engineering course.

"I never thought that I will one day go to Germany to work as a scientist. My parents have never gone to school. I lost my mother when I was 1 year old and my father died when I was in college. There was not even food to eat. I even worked as a daily labourer to fund my education,” 24-year-old Kishan said.

Kishan’s research field is organometallic catalysis and he will be earning a salary equivalent to Rs 2 lakh per month for 3 years.

“I applied for the college in Germany because the country is way more advanced than India,” Kishan added

Before leaving for the European country, Kishan was felicitated by Chief Minister and Sambalpur Collector, who assured to provide a house under Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana to his kin.
