Rayagada: In yet another instance of blind faith and superstition in Odisha, some girl students of Upper Primary School of Chatikana under Bissamcuttack block of Rayagada district were seen receiving treatment by a local priest after they started to behave abnormally on Friday.

As per reports, the students had gone outside the school and later started behaving abnormally after coming back to the class. Suspecting the girls are possessed by some ghost, a local priest was called to ward off the evil spirit.

The girls regained their senses only after the priest treated them for two hours with 'mantras' inside the school to exorcise the ghost.

Though the exact reason behind the abnormal behaviour of the girls is yet to be known, locals claimed the students were possessed by some ghost.

On the other hand, two students have been admitted to Bissamcuttack Hospital for treatment. The school authorities could not be contacted over the incident.

More details awaited.
