Portion of road in Bhubaneswar caves in

Bhubaneswar: A portion of road connecting Nicco Park and Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar caved in today creating panic among commuters.

As per reports, a five-foot deep manhole developed on the road.

Locals said that a few days back sewerage work was undertaken on the roadside of the stretch where the hole developed.

“Due to poor quality of work during the laying of sewerage pipeline, the road collapsed today,” said a resident of the locality.

Assistant engineer of the Public Works Department (PWD) visited the spot and said the manhole developed following incessant rain.
