Nayagarh: In a major success, police on Tuesday unearthed a fake currency note printing unit operating in the town here and detained two persons for using fake notes during a cash transaction of Rs 1.25 lakh at a showroom in the town.

Suspecting something fishy behind their transaction, the owner of the showroom informed the matter to the police who investigated and detected that the transacted cash was counterfeit currency notes. Acting on the lead, cops traced the duo from the town and took them into custody for interrogation.

After preliminary probe, police found that one of the youths who hails from Kosko area under Khandapada police limits has been preparing fake currency notes at a rented house in Nayagarh.

Cops raided the currency manufacturing unit and confiscated laptop, desktops computers, printers and duplicate notes from the location.
