Police bust dacoit gang in Koraput; 9 arrested

Koraput : A joint police team from Koraput and Jeypore has successfully busted a notorious dacoit gang and arrested nine of its members yesterday.

Police have seized cash worth Rs 25,000, sharp weapons, mobile phone and three bikes from the possession of the robbers.

"Acting on a tip-off, a team of cops from Jeypore Sadar police station raided a house and nabbed 6 persons, however, 3 persons managed to flee the spot,” said Koraput Superintendent of Police Y.R Rao.

Rao added that three persons were arrested later including the mastermind of the gang in Delhi.

According to sources, members of this gang had attacked a police team from Jeypore two days back
